Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive spikey blonde locks and pump up personality, explains easy techniques anyone can master. Chef Burrell has worked and studied in the best New York restaurants. He also battled Iron Chef America and the culinary landscape of Italy. While growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for food and cooking at a young age. After earning an English and Communication diploma from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the industry of restaurants by registering as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America is where I spent the most enjoyable time of my life. I couldn't learn or do enough. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. While in Italy she gained an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian cuisine and its culture. This is a huge influence on the way she cooks. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens children living with difficulties. She also serves as an Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador, where she promotes children with diabetes and awareness. As a guest speaker and mentor, she travels around the US to talk about her culinary passion and profession. Anne always felt fortunate that she was able to share her passion that she had for and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
