Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his distinct blend of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. She's performed on Broadway and at the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church where she sang and was a pianist. Her musical career began in Atlanta while attending Spellman College. The very debut song featuring her voice was Stalk You which was a song from Japan's house 12 song. It has been remixed and a part of her set. Her voice was also featured on the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. The year 2005 saw Tyler Perry hired her as the primary keyboardist in his stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) offered her the position of director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta in the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention for several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was invited to perform as part of Obama's inaugural ceremony in 2009.
